Mike finally got his Christmas/birthday gift yesterday. He was one of the select few that can brag about swimming in the
Georgia Aquarium! He originally thought that we were just going to see the new shark exhibit. You should have seen the look on his face when he read the email notifying him that he would be part of the swim program! I just knew he would love it since he is a huge fan of Shark Week on Discovery Channel. He loves any documentaries on sharks and now was his chance to get up close and personal with them. While there are several different shark breeds in the tanks, the huge whale shark was the most impressive. You will see in several of the pictures and video how close Trixie, one of the four whale sharks, came to the divers. The manta rays also got within reach. Here was the agenda:
4:00-4:15 Check in at kiosk at entrance to OV gallery. Meet Dive Master
4:30-5:00 Attend orientation session in Coral Classroom
5:00-5:30 Change into gear and receive topside orientation
5:30-6:00 In the water
6:00-6:30 Shower and change
6:30-7:00 Attend debriefing session in the Coral Classroom. Review underwater video and receive your takeaway items
7:00 Escorted to the Aquarium exit

Mike has said this
experience was truly breathtaking. I highly recommend it to anyone who is up for an adventure!
