Inspecting the Tree

As soon as Bailey came into the living room she noticed the tree. Each and every ornament within her reach has been carefully inspected. A couple have even tasted! When will she quit putting everything in her mouth???? So far the tree is still standing. Of course it has only been 48 hours. Posted by Picasa

Go Thrashers!

Mike and I got a chance to visit Blueland again. Not only did we have a great time, Mike won a Thrasher's Tshirt. The Thrasher mascot was shooting them out of a tshirt gun and it landed in Mike's seat. Mike had left to get some refreshments. He always has the best luck! Posted by Picasa

Bailey Goes Back to South Carolina

While I have been attending an awesome conference in Atlanta, the GaETC, Bailey has been visiting her Grandpa Don and Grandma Posie in South Carolina. I hear her latest fun adventure has been taking showers instead of baths. For some reason she is frightened of their tub and prefers the shower. Go figure!!! Dad has been keeping me posted on her activities with nightly photoshows. Here they are:

Happy Halloween 2006

What a difference a year makes. Bailey really got a chance to enjoy Halloween this time. And she did it in style, she was Princess Leah. Her Royal Highness really looked the part in the dress our neighbor Andrea made her. (That will teach Andrea to brag about her new sewing machine!) I bought a hair band that worked great as a belt. And to finish the look I made her some customized buns out of yarn. They stayed in only an hour due to Bailey tugging on them, but they really helped make the outfit. Before trick or treating at our neighbors, we went to the pizza party for our subdivision. A whole bunch of kids showed up and Bailey really enjoyed hanging out with the witches, fairies, and super heroes. I can't wait for next year! Posted by Picasa

Some Bonding Time with Charlie B

Charlie B is really starting to show his age this fall. Since his arthritis is much worse, we have started giving him a prescription drug for it. His elevated level of calcium and continued weight loss aren't helping either. The vet says it could be a sign of cancer. Mike and I are very committed to making sure he is as comfortable as possible. He even got a boost up into the recliner with me the other night! Mike and I couldn't have asked for a better dog. We love our Charlie B! Posted by Picasa

Ready to Shop...

Bailey has been hanging around her Meemaw too much. It looks like she has some serious shopping on her mind.
Although Bailey and I didn't get a chance to stay long, we really enjoyed our quick visit to Albany.
Kory treated me and Wendy to the movies. The Grudge 2 was really spooky. Poor Kory sat between us and he really paid the price. Wendy and I each had an arm.
On Monday, I got to purchase my dress for the wedding. Wendy did a great job picking it out. We even found a pretty flower girl dress for Bailey at a consignment shop. Just hope she cooperates and does her job when the time comes.
Later that night I got a chance to spend some time with the girls at our Girl's Night Out dinner. Grandma and Grandpa McBride watched Bailey so I got to eat out and enjoy myself. I soooo needed it. Posted by Picasa

High Meadow's Fall Festival

Bailey, Mike and I had a great time at High Meadow's Fall Festival. There were all sorts of activities going on for the kids (Bailey was still just a little too young to participate). We did try our luck in the cake walk...twice, but it wasn't meant to be. We also visited the animals they have in the barn area. And lucky for us the weather was just perfect. We are really looking forward to next year!

InTech Day 6 Reflection

How have you integrated technology into your curriculum? What influence has technology had on your students' academics, behavior and motivation?

A Weekend of Firsts

This weekend Bailey and Mike went to the lawnmower store to order some parts for the blower. While Bailey was there she received her very first sucker. By the time they made it back home, they were both covered in the sticky candy. Even the car seat was messy. If you look closely, you can still see it on her clothes and face. Oh well, Daddy will learn.
This morning Mike treated me and Bailey to homemade pancakes. They were such a success that I have requested them every Sunday. Maybe I can even get them served as breakfast in bed if I work it right.

Happy Birthday to Me

Mike and I went to Destin to celebrate my birthday and to just SLEEP for a whole week. I think every doctor should prescribe a vacation to the beach for anyone recovering from major surgery. And insurance should pay for it..haha. We had a great time doing absolutely nothing. Bailey stayed with her grandparents in Albany so Mike and I could really enjoy our getaway. But I did make it back in time to celebrate my birthday with my family. Posted by Picasa

Bailey's First Official Field Trip

Today was very exciting for Bailey because she got to go with Ms. Marcia's Munchins to McDonald's for lunch. Marcia, being the sweet person she is, even came by and picked me up so I could join the fun. (Plus she was out numbered...heehee.) Bailey really enjoyed her first happy meal. It was my first time braving the kiddie section too. Pre-Bailey, Mike and I would sit as far away from the play area as possible. My how times have changed! After eating her cheeseburger, Bailey got a chance to get on the slide with Madison and Sarah. Even Marcia got a chance to experience the slide. Of course she was just rescuing Bailey since she didn't know how to slide down, but I know she secretly wanted to join in.

I really am glad I got a chance to be part of Bailey's first field trip. And my hat goes off to Marcia. She really is a wonder with all those kids on her own. No wonder Bailey loves her so much.

Whoa, horsey!

Bailey got a chance to visit with Goliath this afternoon. Our neighbors, Sheryl and Holly, were out walking their dogs and stopped by so Bailey could get some puppy lovin'. Not that Goliath seemed too excited by the idea. Posted by Picasa

Bailey's Crazy Crawl

Now that Bailey is walking more and more, I thought I had better catch this crawl on video before it was gone. She would only do this out in the grass or on carpet she didn't like to touch. Posted by Picasa
