Bailey's First Fair
We took Bailey to the fair today. We weren't exactly sure what she would think of the rides, but she loved them. She rode all them by herself like a trooper. As a matter of fact, we would still be there if it were up to her. As a special treat we celebrated with a funnel cake with tons of powdered sugar!

Rescue 911 Falcon Crest Style
You know there is never a dull moment around the McBride household. Let me begin my telling the Grandparents that Bailey is fine. We just had a little "incident" last night. Bailey and I were taking a shower together. I got finished first and was drying off when I heard Bailey say, "Uh Oh, finger!" Can you guess where I am going here? She had gotten her pointer finger stuck in the shower drain trying to catch the bubbles. Of course Mike is out of town and I can't leave her screaming bloody murder to find a screwdriver. So I call my awesome neighbors to the rescue. Sally ran over with no less than 10 different screwdrivers (I couldn't remember to identify the screws as a flathead to save my life) and together we got the drain unscrewed. By this time her finger had really swollen and was bleeding where the metal edges where cutting into her. It wasn't coming off so we called 911. Our other neighbor, Sheryl, came over right before the firetruck and helped calm Bailey (and me) down. The firemen at the Trickum Rd. Station were awesome. It only took them a couple of minutes to get to the house and they took excellent care of Bailey while they cut the drain off her finger. Bailey even got a cute stuffed dog (bulldog, go figure) out of her ordeal. The swelling in her finger went down really quickly and all it needed was a little TLC afterward. So that is the latest on the drama we live in around here. Stay tuned till the next adventure on Hawk Court. Ha!

Bailey's Visit to Albany
Here are some pics that Bailey's Grandpa and Grandma McBride took while she stayed with them in Albany. She really enjoyed spending time in their huge back yard. She got to see goats and baby deer. Pops even took her to ride his horse!
New Kitchen Flooring
Bye, bye 70's linoleum, hello new tile. I just love the new updated look to our kitchen floors. It needed to be replaced badly. Lots of tears and nails poking out. Mike worked really hard to remove the subfloor. We lucked up and got extra help from Tom. We still have to replace the baseboards but it looks tons better already!

Destin: September 2007 Day 3
Not much new to report. Just enjoying the beach and eating out. Both Brent and Kaye recommended Dewey Destin so we ate there tonight. We really enjoyed being able to eat outside and watch the sunset. The fried shrimp was delicious!

September Destin Trip 2007
What a great way to start off my birthday...we joined Mom, Kory, and Wendy for a lunch from my favorite Chinese restaurant in Albany. Then Mike surprised me with a delicious chocolate cake. I got super presents: gift cards, UGA bling bling, and some perfume. Just spending time with family was the best part.
It was sad to leave Bailey behind as Mike and I headed to the beach, but I know she is in excellent hands. She is going to be getting tons of love from my mom and Mike's folks. As a matter of fact, Kory and Wendy took her to play her first round of Putt Putt tonight. Can't wait to hear how that worked out. Hopefully she took after her mom and made nothing but hole-in-ones.
Destin is pretty deserted and the weather is perfect. Just like I ordered. Ha! UGA even won their game. This birthday rocks!!!

Labor Day Weekend 2007
The long awaited College Football season is back. As is the official custom, we kicked off this Saturday in our LazyBoys with the grill going and plenty of cheese queso dip within reach. We even invited our neighbor, Tom, over to enjoy the start of the seasons. I'll go ahead and take this time to congratulate my UGA Bulldogs for a great game. AU did all right...barely squeaked their first win in there. I'll just leave it at that for Mike's sake. The rest of the weekend was spent at the pool, playing at the park and visiting Steak n Shake for some yummy milkshakes. Oh yeah, the Destin countdown has begun again...12 days and counting.
